From hurricanes to gastric veins, from sound bites to bear bites, together we will explore numerous routes of inspiration and the steps you can take to develop activities that will put the buzz back into your classroom. | 17:45 – 18:45 | Using Pecha Kuchas in the Classroom (60mn) The Pecha Kucha (ペチャクチャ) usually pronounced ʺpe‐chak‐chaʺ, is a presentation format in which a presenter shows 20 slides at 20 seconds each for a total speaking time of 6 minutes, 40 seconds. Pecha Kuchas have recently become popular traditions at international teacher conferences (e.g. IATEFL and TESOL). In this talk, I will demonstrate how the Pecha Kucha can be adapted for classroom use and help spice up student presentations. |

BETHANY CAGNOL has a BA from the University of Virginia, USA, and an MA in Teaching Second and Foreign Languages from the University of London Institute in Paris. She owns a freelance teaching business in Paris and is currently President of TESOL France.
